Sleeping under the stars at Union Valley

On our first night in the Sierras, we decided to camp at Union Valley Reservoir, about an hour's drive from South Lake Tahoe. After about 30 minutes of wandering around unmarked forest service roads, we finally popped out of the trees into a campground located along the shores of the reservoir. It was a gorgeous spot, looking out onto the water, and so peaceful and quiet that we almost didn't mind going without a shower...
