Coming into Auckland was a little sad. We had just come from such serenity and then there we were, in traffic, at the end of someone else's workday. Ah, the Big City.

After dropping off our rental, we had the whole day to explore. We started off at the Sky Tower, got our obligatory Auckland caffeine fix at a cafe and then wandered down to the harbor to sit seaside. Later, we stopped in for a taste at the Mac’s Brewery and picnicked along the wharf, watching the cruisers disembark. It was nice to just sit, relax and have nowhere to drive.

Tomorrow we will arrive at our next destination 13 hours before we departed. Just one of the perks of an around the world trip – you come back younger than when you left.
