We were finally allowed back into port and the Infinity was allowed to leave.  Other ships have also been arriving throughout the day.

At least the weather has been nice and people have been sunning up on the decks or doing other things.  Additional tours have been put on and we did a short foray into the market for a few gift items.  The tour guides all talked about the national drink, mate (pronounced mah-tay) so I got a gourd cup, staw and package of mate to try out once I get home.

As we came back to the ship we saw that they had cut a section of the bow out to make repairs and will be patching it soon.  We won't be leaving tonight.  Maybe another day or so.

Turns out our captain was fairly new, and the company has decided to replace him with a more experienced man.  Our new captain has just come off the Marco Polo, a ship belonging to a sister company of NCL that was trapped outside of Montevideo with our accident, but decided to travel on to Buenos Aires as the final destination of their cruise.

The captain was supposed to be heading home to spend time with his family in Norway, but the company convinced him to take over the helm of the Dream until a replacement could be found.  He traveled over from Buenos Aires and is now aboard.  He told us that he has traveled this route for five years, is well experienced with the various conditions and that we were in good hands.  Everyone seemed pleased.
