Heavy skies all day. There were only a few places where the sky broke enough to see a few slopes of mountains. Along the way we see the rusting hulks of ships that foundered, left to the vagaries of time and tide.
Park West held another art auction, and again, I bought a few more pieces for them to ship. Some isn't going to be too happy. Oh well, it's just money, right?
However, as we got into the late afternoon, and began sailing up the channel to Amalia Glacier, the clouds lightened significantly and the rain slackened. There were very few signs of ice in the water until we were almost up to the glacier. There, some of the ships crew dropped a rescue boat and picked up some ice for drinks aboard the ship.
While we were there, a couple of dolphins cavorted around the ship and then took off. Several passengers expressed their dismay at not seeing a glacier calve, but then, it doesn't happen on cue! Duh!
Time now to turn around and head back out to open seas and on to Pueto Montt.
