Today is rainforest day. Far North Queensland is as tropical as it gets, averaging roughly 14 feet of rain each year.  And the area is teeming with plants and animals.  In fact, although the rainforest comprises just .25% of Australia's land mass, half of the continent’s plants and animals live here.  We spend the day traipsing about the various trails, Alison with one wary eye on the crocs, baseball-sized spiders, deadly Cassowaries and venomous snakes she is convinced are watching our every move.
