Santorini has been great. It's well established that I love ass time on the beach and I've found a place on Santorini that reminds me a lot of the vibe in Dahab - it's very relaxed and relatively inexpensive with plenty of access to potent potables. There are many more travellers here, especially Americans. I guess this is an easier travel destination than the previous places I've been.

Not really much to report as I've been doing the same thing nearly every day - waking up at 9-ish, grabbing breakfast (I'm going to get fat here) and heading to the beach for 3-4 hours before returning to the hostel for a full rinse and nap. Wake up, hang around with some peeps and then head out for a pub crawl. I watched the Italy-Germany World Cup match the other night with loads of Germans and I was proud that my people represented! GO ITALY!

We found a few fireworks and celebrated the 4th in style on the beach after a few beers - just like the redneck south!

I rented a scooter one day and toured the whole island. The few pics attached say it all. The volcanic history of the island is well known and one is reminded of it at every turn. The caldera is stunning...volcanic ash and rock everywhere...black sand beaches. I was scheduled on the ferry to Mokonos for this morning, but the ferry has been cancelled the past few days due to wind. I'm not too disappointed about being stuck here. :-)

Allright, I have to say something
Ok asshole, you are living the life we all dream about but don't have the guts to follow through on! God Bless you! I am enjoying following your journey, as are my wife and kids (OK, I have to censor some stuff but what the hell). Damn, the things you are posting almost defy the imagination. I look forward to getting together with you on your return and hearing about this stuff first hand. Seriously, all your friends in Atlanta wish you the best and envy you for what your are getting to do. Perhaps someday... Take care and enjoy!! (By the way, Regina says hello!)
