So we're off to South America for a full month. Sadly, 30 days away from all of you. But on the positive note, 30 days without work computers, cell phones, or responsibilities, that will be filled with hiking, ancient cities, foreign cultures, three countries, new (female) acquaintances, and a trip with 1,000 stories.
We would love to keep you all updated on our trip as much as possible. We will be posting stories (aka what the kids these days call "blogs"), as well as pictures and sharing some of our experiences, as our way of letting you all know how were doing. Additionally, we have a friendly beard growing contest (in Ryan's case, it will be measured by the growth of the hair on his head), which we will also keep you up to date on
We all couldn't be more excited to embark upon this adventure, and look forward to safe travels and seeing you all in a month. Please enjoy a preview of the four travelers below.
Matt, Ryan, Michael, and Adam
Lets meet the travelers:
Adam: known to some as "Doctor Love" and to others as "Chu-Chu Babies". Adam loves comb-overs, designer clothes, fruiting his beer, being sun-burned, and a good kosher lasagna. When in a somber mood, Adam turns to his Miley Cirus/Justin Beiber playlist to get him out of the funk. Truly the wild card of the group.
Matt: fondly referred to as "Mr. 2010" for his skills in being awesome and event planning. As the tallest member of the group, Matt enjoys pretending to be a DJ, wearing high socks w/ shorts, the Dave Matthews Band, iPhone 4 apps, and telling others not to eat red meat. Matt is widely considered an early favorite for the beard contest and the trip historian/blogger.
Michael: the baby of the group, as determined by height, is a feisty go-getter. Largely recognized as the organizational guru behind the 30 day excursion, Michael's true loves are simple: the SJ sharks, the SF giants, Erica, and shopping at Baby Gap (in no particular order). Michael also was voted "most likely to stay behind in Colombia".
Ryan: or more commonly known as "Bruce", is a UCSB alum ready to have fun. Although worried about leaving his Ramen behind, is excited about surrounding himself with the various foreign cultures. That, and drinking beers from several different local brews. Bruce is the snorer of the group, and his true passions are: wearing jeans to work, jus chillin', the Giants record, and his 49er season tickets.
