These past two days have been really nice. Yesterday was a really short day. We left the hotel and shuttled the riders to the start of 191 for their ride to Moab. It was only a 30 mile day although the wind was working against them. We quickly dropped off the riders, double bag to load luggage and then headed into Moab. After dropping off the bags we took Eric and his bike to the Poison Spider for some repairs. He just rejoined us a few days ago because he left to train for his biathlon. After his bike was fixed we went to wait for the riders to arrive at the city park. State Farm's local agent had a really nice set up for the riders with American flags, tons of locals and pizza! Food is always the way to the rider's hearts. I had to leave the event early though so that I could go back to the doctor's. I got prescribed an inhaler for my bronchial spasms and hopefully I should start feeling better within the next few days.
Today was also a pretty relaxing day. I woke up and hitched a ride to the local laundry mat and then stopped by a Thai restaurant for a Thai Iced Tea. They need to bottle those things, they are so delicious. I then went to pick up lunch from the Slickrock Cafe, which unfortunately made me miss the trip to the Arches National Park. I rested until dinner at Pasta Jay's and I'm going to get some sleep for tomorrow. We cross the border again, this time into Colorado on our way to Naturita. It is about 80 miles with a 3,000 foot elevation change over 36 miles. It's going to be a difficult climb, especially for the hand cyclists. I'm hoping it pops my ears in the process though :)
