ni hao -  this keyboard has no shift so please excuse my noncaps.

made it to kunming after taking a night bus for 10 hours from kunming. i thought it was going to be a 6 hour ride in a seat but instead it was 10 hours on a small sleeper which was absolutely fabulous since i did get some sleep.

i arrived in lijiang at 8 am and went to the taxi stand as the hostel directions told me to. i asked 5 cabs to take me to the old police station, i had a map, and they all said no. so i started walking according to some directions a person told me. a mini mus stopped for me and took me to the pamba house which wasn't where i am staying but close enough. i had no idea where i was in reference to my map so i decided to stop and get some warm food and tea. while sitting there, a fellow traveler, rodny from the phillippines, stopped and got food as well. he and i had quite a pleasant conversation and ended but spending all morning and afternoon walking.

rodny is an amateur photographer so under his influence i ended up taking like 100 pics which i wont bore you with. needless to say, lijiang is a beautiful place albeit a bit touristy with the shops. but i saw plenty of regular people selling stuff, masons, doing laundry - pics to come later.

i ate yak at lunch and it wasn't half bad. also bought an interesting fruit that i am about to cut into. i think it might be some sort of pomegranate.

ok - other people want to use computer. will add pics later. bye bye

met some really nice people at the hostel too.
