Woke up to the mountain air.  Last night the voyages were howling at the moon.  Strange alarm clock.   We left our campsite and headed for Aspen.  We journeyed through Independence Pass and found a dirt road to do some travelling.  We journeyed over 11 miles into the woods to an abandoned old Silver Town called Ruby.  We drove straight up half a mountain about a mile.  It was very nerve racking at points when the road looked to narrow.  Then I drove back down and back along the trail.  Found a waterfall and played around there for awhile.  Moved into the town and headed for the hotel.  From there went to dinner at Woody Creek.  Left for the Hunter S Thompson Gonzo Memorial and snapped some pictures.  Went back to Aspen and got pulled over for not operating a round-a-bout properly.  I proved him wrong and we went on our way.  Aspen sucked so we left.  It was like Hoboken and Connecticut in Colorado.  The South Park theme kept running through my head.  We returned to the hotel.  Beds and showers, they are rather nice.

Day 6

Start: Aspen, CO
End: Aspen, CO
Total Mileage: 27.7
Trip Total: 2154.8

Today was a lovely day.  Had some breakfast, and then went to play some golf.  The course was very challenging, but I found that as I stopped keeping score I started to hit better.  Came back to the hot tub and then went out for the Hunter Memorial.  The opening act was rather hurtful to the head, but Senator McGovern came out with Hunter's wife and said a few words.  We then watched the video of Hunter being shot out of a canon and returned home for the night.
