Bern is a cool place. It was highly recommended by some girls we met in Lucerne and it failed to disappoint. We had a nice place to stay in a good part of town but the manager lady was kinda rude. We don't know if she was joking all the time or just being a jerk but she confused us enough to wonder. After arriving at the train station, we just spent the day walking around town. Bern is surrounded on three sides by a river which represents the old town and it is nice because when you hit a river, you know you are leaving the interesting parts and heading out of town. We went down to a park hoping to find an area to toss around our frisbee but we couldn't toss it around because it was so packed. These Europeans like their sun and everyone just flocks to the beaches and parks to lay in it. We were just happy to have some sun after 3 weeks without.

That night we started making dinner(pasta again because it is cheap and relatively easy in the hostel setting) and two guys who we met in London walked in. Nate and Brad from Denver were really nice guys we hung out with for a couple of nights in London and it was fun catching up with them and what they had been up to the last couple of weeks. We have been surprised at how many people we have just ran into who are also travelling. Europe is a huge place and yet we catch some of the same people at each different city. We watched the opening match of the World Cup with those guys at the hostel and then talked to some university students from Holland before calling it an early night and going to bed.

The next morning was an early wake-up and then off to Dijon
