It just do happened that our friends from University, Kieran and Amy (who I had just stayed with in Ireland), were having a holiday with Keiran's parents in the south of France..... it was a long shot, but our attempt to meet up worked out pretty flawlessly(at least from our perspective!). The Obeirnes were once again great to us.
We stayed in an old house that is being renovated by friends of the Obeirnes... it was really nice and I hadn't had such a good sleep in a long while!
That night we went for the fanciest dinner I've ever been apart of..by a long shot. No less than 7 courses. All exceptional and exotic etc. And if I try to calculate how much Kieran's dad must have paid it makes both my head and my wallet hurt!
We went to see some Locks in Breziers, which was interesting and we also did some walking... it was a really nice day but I think we were all feeling the heat.
I really liked the town of Cruzy...as it is very very small and the inhabitants pretty authentic. One woman, having parked her vineyard tractor across the road, began a lengthy yell-a-thon with a man in the street. We could not decipher what she was saying, or whether or not she was mad or just a little crazy. She would go back and forth between laughing hysterically and enraged sounds of fury.
Anyway, our stop off in Cruzy was lots of fun... next stop the home of Van Gogh.
