The Plan for today was to get up early and go to Greenwich, come back and go to St. Pauls, Hyde Park, and then catch a train to catch a ferry to get to Amsterdam. Here is what actually happened:

1.  Meant to get up early and go to Greenwich....
Accidentally slept in until 11:00. No time for Greenwich if we want to see more of central            London.

2.  Meant to hop directly onto tube and go to St. Pauls Cathedral
Several tube lines were down and ended up riding a train back to where we started from.          Took another train to St. Paul's Cathedral, it was closed for a service for some "special"             person. Not normally closed on Saturdays.

3. Decided to pay the expensive admission fee and tour the Tower of London.
Got distracted by The Globe (which we didnt go into) and by the Tate Modern Art Museum      (Which was a waste of time). Passed the National Monument that was soon to be closing         but decided the Tower of London still sounded better. Got to the Tower of London, walked to     the opposite side of the attraction by accident, went back to buy a ticket and found out that     for 17pounds (over 30 US dollars) we could spend 30 min. in the Tower- as it was closing. It     takes 3 hours to go through the musem. We didn't do it.   AND we missed the National             Monument because the closing Tower of London took too long.

4. Decided to go to Harrods.
Got to Harrods but only after spending 30 minutes on a bus that took us one block, to             transfer to the tube that someone proceeded to throw-up in, which then closed that tube             temporarily while it was cleaned up. Waited for two more trains after that because it got so         crowded. Got to Harrods- it was crowded, overpriced, and we were told we had to carry our         packs in front of us-- SO hard to do. So we left Harrods.

5. Because of our amazing luck, we decided to axe Hyde Park and get to our train early to             guarantee our making the ferry to Amsterdam. Got to the train station. There had been a         "fatality" somewhere on the line and police crews needed to "clean it up". All trains were         delayed or cancelled. After talking (and waiting in line) with three different people we had to         wait "for more information". We made the train (almost an hour and a half later than                 expected) to catch the ferry. We made the ferry.... and no one from the train station ever         informed the ferry line that many trains were delayed. We are guessing some people missed     the boat.

While the day sounds like a bust, we did SEE the outside of: St. Pauls Cathedral, The Tower of London, The Globe, and the National Monument. AND we rode a double decker bus.

Our ferry to Amsterdam was awesome. We boarded close to midnight and had our own private cabin with our own private shower. Slept while we travelled, woke up in Holland! (and saved a bunch of money!)
