It took us roughly 5 hours of driving to get from Newport Beach to Santa Barbara on this Saturday. It's only about a 150 mile trip. We drove only one the Pacific coast highway. The drive didn't have amazing views until a little farther up the coast, but it was still cool to drive through Venice Beach and Malibu. We drove right past Pepperdine University. I don't think I could go to a school like that because I wouldn't ever want to study if I was that close to the ocean. ha. We were lucky enough to meet up with a friend from Tennessee, Hutch Brock. It was good to see a familiar face. We grabbed some dinner and relaxed as his place for the rest of the night. UCSB is also in a really cool part of the coast. It's situated right between the ocean and the mountains. It's gorgeous. I think he'll enjoy it there pretty well. After crashing on Hutch's floor, we woke up early and started our journey up the coast again.
