Had a quick stop over in BKK before meeting up with our friend Kyle on Koh Chang.

We were dropped off at a bus station way out of town and had to sit around and wait for our bus to come and bring us into town. We try to take public transit as often as we can, but it often takes much longer (just like in this case). We have a motto now referring to Thai transportation - "You can save either money or time".

We finally caught our bus and it dropped us off right outside of a giant "red shirt" demonstration. Packed full with angry people and police in riot gear. Unfortunately for us where we wanted to go was on the other side of all of them. Only a few minutes walk but we did not feel safe wandering around in the crowds. The first tuk-tuk we asked said he couldn't take us because it was too far to go around all the protesters. The next guy we asked said no problem so we hopped in. Instead of going around all the traffic and protesters, he drove full speed against traffic for a what felt like five minutes on a very busy road. We were swerving in and our of traffic and dodging cars like something out of a Hollywood movie. Our driver was totally chill and relaxed during the whole ordeal and his face didn't even change expressions. Probably not the first time he's attempted a maneuver like that.
