Türkiye

Friday may 28: market and lunch first time at Oz Urfa. We met the family there whose restaurant we would return to multiple times during the week. Ate some of the best food yet.
Saturday: the pool and walked around. We were still recovering from that 26 hour bus trip from Belgrade Serbia to kusadasi turkey.
Sunday: we went to the waterpark today! We thought it would be crazier in Turkey and it was. Waterparks here aren't for children. It had 3 or four water bars. The only Turkish people around were the lifeguards, the rest foreigners and mostly European. Lots of crazy partying Bulgarians. They like to count to twelve and then cheer. It must be their drinking call. We were with our Serbian friends Damir and Milan the whole day.
Monday: Woke up late. Neither of us felt 100% today. Walked around the city checked out scarves and souvenirs. Didn't buy anything because we are
Worried about transporting it over for the next few months of travel since both of us only carry a small backpack each.
Tuesday: today we started our day with a phone call from Milan and Damir asking us to go to the beach with them. We first made a stop atthe travel agency and booked our tickets to Greece. Island of Rhodos to Santorini to Crete all for 150 usd. We then got on the local minibus to "Ladies beach" about 5 min out of city center. Name this for when it was a beach only for ladies :-). Then after the beach and some swimming Milan bought a leather jacket from a Turkih guy that spoke perfect Serbian. He also got us a deal on Turkish hamam fr 10€. which was amazing. We took the water camera in with us. See our photos attached it was quite entertaining. Finally we came home changed clothes and met Milan and Damir for tea and coffee at "the manager of kuçadesi" family restaurant called Öz Urfa. Amazing place and highly recommended if you ever come to Kuçadesi :-)! Çharlar one o the brothers calls me Yagmur which means rain in Turkish! Haha! Now we are in bed had a few Turkish cookies and it's time for sleep! Tomorrow clothing Wednesday market!
Wednesday: well we went to the market. I had big plans of buying Turkish coffee and tea and sending it back to the US. I guess I have someone regretably decided to leave these beautiful pieces in Turkey so I can crave them and some day return to this magic place. I know day one after leaving Turkey I will crave the tea and coffee and slap myself for not taking some home. ;-)
Thursday: Hierpolos and Pammukale
Friday: Milli Park, national park.
Saturday: today we went to Ephesus. The ancient city, the virgin Mary house and Artemis temple. I am not so sure our Serbian tour buddies understood the magnitude of what they were experiencing. It seems like they are just going through the motions of being le around by our tour guide Milos. Maybe I am totally off, I hope I am. The virgin Mary house was extremely powerful and moving. The story behind finding it is amazing. You can light a candle or two for a prayer, leave a piece of clothing for a wish prayer and touch some holy water from the spring. Walking in there was an experience to remember.
Sunday June 6: Todaywe woke up, checked out of our four star hotel Dabaklar loaded up our packs and boarded a mini bus to Aydin and then caught another bus to Marmaris. This journey turnedout to be 5 or more hours rather than the 1-2 we thought, it was okay because the bus company we choose from Aydin to Marmaris (Pammukale bus) included TV individually for every seat. We watched the equal to MTV, turkey style. When we arrived in Marmaris our taxi driver took us to our hotel, we paid 40 lira (20€) cheap. Hen spend the rest of the day sightseeing. We bought a corn cob off the street vendor and went to a supermarket to buy fruits bread and water for dinner and to spend the rest of our lira. We retired by 9pm and got a good rest of our journeys to Greece.
