Last night it poured down raining and in the morning was still overcast so we decided to go on Krk Island.
To our delight, soon after we came on island Krk it became sunny and it stayed that way for the rest of the day. :-)
The vegetation on the island is very unique (everything is very short) and all the fences are made of rocks which are abundant on the island.  The other feature of the island (and everywhere we've been so far) is that there are fig trees everywhere.
I like figs but my father in law is almost obsessed with them.  So every time I told him to stop the car so that I can take some photos he went on a quest to find more figs!  After some serious complaining from the ladies he was forced to buy a kilo of figs and he finished them all in a day. :-)
The first stop was the Krk City.  This was quite some place to visit.  It had an abundance of those tiny streets where only people could walk, it had many historical buildings and it was overlooking the Adriatic Sea (you have to see the photos).
So after about 2 hours in Krk City, we left and drove to the other side of the island in a town called Baska.  On the way there we took some nice photos.  When we got to Baska we found a nice beach there where we spent most of the afternoon.  The beach was packed but the water was awesome (not too cold and very clear).
During the course of the afternoon we went on the "Tubes".  There were 6 tubes pulled by a boat.  That was pretty good.  Not even Roxy fell off the tube (jokes!). :-)
The only downside to the day was that we (Roxy) forgot the sun protection cream.  So guess who got sun burnt!?!?!?!   Roxy was lucky - she just got a tan - no sunburn no nothing.
Anyway, at least when we come to Australia we'll look different from everybody else. ;-)
About 5pm we left Baska to go back to our apartments.
After a quick shower we went to Crikvenica for dinner on the Esplanade.
And that my friends was an awesome day on the Adriatic Coast.
