Last night we slept over in Sinaia, a tourist town located in the mountains about 2 hours drive north from Bucharest. The air was fresh and it was so peaceful.
After we had breakfast we packed up and left to do some sight seeing. The first stop was at Peles castle. It is located in a spot that you would only see in movies - it was magic. Look at the photos to see the surroundings.
We took an english speking tour of the castle. It's a shame I don't have any pictures from inside - the were asking about $16 to take pictures. At the time I thaught it wasn't worth it but maybe I should have done it.
From then on we left to go to a town called Bran where we had lunch. In Bran is the castle associated with Dracula. The castle was built on top of a hill 700 years ago and was primarily used for fighting off enemies. It was only given to monarchy in 18 century who then refurbished it and made it their "Summer" residence.
We couldn't see more today due to road works and traffic jam (2 hours!!! for about 10 kms).
From Bran we headed to Piatra Neamt (Roxy's home town) where we arrived at 10:3pm. On the way to Piatra we passed through Brasov, Onesti and Bacau.
