Yesterday we took a bus from Victoria station (London) to Luton airport.  The trip was good except that somebody was farting in the vicinity of our seats.  Once we arrived at the airport and while waiting in the check-in line there was one of Roxy's friends there as well.  They used to sing together 8 years ago.  She brought one of her friends to the airport to see her off back to Romania.  Since this was a low cost airline airport you are only allowed "1 bag" for the security check.  Lucky this "friend" had a big enough bag to put Roxy's hand bag in there.  There are obsessed here for any possible liquids you might have but we managed to pass without any problems.  There was only one problem, the check-in chick made us pay 36 pounds for oversized luggage (6kg).  So for the presents we bought for our friends and relatives we had to top it of with another $80-$90.  That's Europe for you... :P
Now one advice I would give to anybody coming to Europe is: unless you are absolutely desperate DO NOT fly low cost airlines.  Virgin Blue and Jet Star is like Business Class compared to this one we took (Wizz Air).  The plane was not very clean, the engine(s) rattled, the staff were teenagers who had to read every single instruction, etc (I am glad we didn't have an emergency because the flight attendants would spend 2 hours looking for what to do in their manuals).
Anyway, we finally made it to Bucharest.  The airport looked nicer than Heathrow but it took ages to receive our luggage.  There was this lady that probably never saw her bag and every black suitcases that came along she took off, checked it out and than had to put it back because it wasn't hers.  This was going on for about 15 minutes.  Pretty funny when I think about it.
When we got into the arrival hall, there were Roxy's parents with a rose for her (and nothing for me - sorry I got  kiss :) ).
Now if anybody comes to Bucharest, you need to drive like a hoon in Australia to make it anywhere.  It's a mad house.  People make 3-4 lines where there are meant to be only 2.
We went out for dinner where Roxy met her best friend, Ozana from the times when she was studying in Bucharest (see the photos).  Now if you don't see it, but Ozana is the shortest woman you ever saw.  She has a very nice personality. We also met with Ada, a girl that Roxy hasn't seen for about 9 years because she lives in US with her parents. Later on Vali (another friend :)) also came. So after a busy day we managed to go to sleep around 11:30.
