Where I stayed
Last night it snowed so bad that some areas of the city cannot be accessed.
We are supposed to leave for Australia today but JFK Airport is still closed and we have no idea when it will open for business again.
As a result Roxy found another hotel on Wall St where we are spending some additional bludge time before we can return home. The packing took some skill due to Roxy's shopping efforts yesterday.
Due to the snow, there were not many taxi's around and we heard on TV that there were punch ups where people were fighting for taxis. Lucky for us, one of the hotel guys volunteered to go to the main steet and try to get a taxi for us. I think it took him something like 15 minutes in freezing conditions to get us a taxi. Needless to say he got a tip!
We arrived to our new hotel and this was some hotel room. It was awesome - should have stayed here all the time. ;-)
Since Roxy "needed" some more quality shopping time, Mattias and I stayed in the room while Roxy went "out". I have to say it was nice to just stay in the hotel and relax.
It seems like tomorrow the JFK airport will be reopened and we might be able to get a few seats to come back to Australia. We'll give it a crack.
