Around 10am we went for a drive to a spot very close to the Hollywood sign and we took some photos there. It was cool! Finally we went for a drive through Beverly Hills where all the stars live. All it was is a lot of big houses with most having fences with nothing to see but it was a nice area.
Around 1pm we set out on a 4 hr drive to Las Vegas for some much dreaded shopping (for me at least). As we got closer to Las Vegas there was absolutely nothing just bare hills, mountains and plains. It was quite remarkable. Absolutely nothing. I was a bit disappointed we didn’t see the renowned cactuses in the desert. I guess we’ll have to do that on another trip.
As we were driving to our hotel we observed Las Vegas. I can’t understand people (almost everyone I talked to) that say Las Vegas in nothing during the day. The enormous structures, the building types, activities it’s just mind blowing. Just because it’s all in lights during the night doesn’t mean the place is nothing during the day. This is my opinion only...
When we got to our hotel, it’s like we got to a separate city. It has it’s own shopping mall, numerous swimming pools, casino, food courts, restaurants, etc. We had to wait for a while at the reception but when we checked in, we were glad to be in our room. We have to admit that this room is even better than the room we had at Riu Palace in Cancun, Mexico.
I need to get some rest prior to being made to go shopping for a full day tomorrow. :-( Can somebody save me please??? :-)
