Today we had to get up fairly early in order to make it to for the 9am tour to Alcatraz - the island that was a high security prison about 1 1/2 miles off San Francisco coast.
Today was another cold day and we didn’t have warm clothes - we thought it will be warmer than about 12 degrees celsius!
After a short ferry ride, we were on the island.  They had a whole audio tour in place so in a very short time you could know most of the history about the island, the attempted escapes and little stories.  We found it very informative.
After the tour we went to see the famous Lombard St and Grace Cathedral.  The part of the Lombard St we were is very steep, has 8 bends in very short distance and has nice gardens all the way.  See the photos.  The place was full of tourists. After taking some photos we drove on the street as well.
Our final stop was to see the Grace cathedral and then we were on our way to Los Angeles again - a 6 hour drive!!! (serves us right when we wanted to see so many things in such a short time) :-)
The trip was long but we made it in the end.  When we came to Los Angeles, we checked in our hotel for the night (we stayed close to the airport).
Tonight will be a very short night as we have to be at the airport at 3:30am meaning wake up time at 3:00am - not happy Jan.  We are finally going to Mexico for some real relaxing holiday. :-)
