Where I stayed
We had a late breakfast around 10am and instead of driving we walked. The size of the shops and types of shops here is just amazing.
After looking around for a bit (we were actually waiting for the Apple store to open) we found ourselves in a queue (yes a queue) to enter the Apple store. See the photos from today. I have never seen a queue for an Apple store especially when nothing new is being released.
To our disappointment they had only WiFi iPads but no 3G. We might order the iPad tomorrow night in Los Angeles so that we can pick it up after our stint in Mexico.
We visited the famous Golden Gate Bridge - it was cool to go on San Francisco’s most renowned landmark. The bridge was huge but not the only one - there are a few of them around here. We visited Japanese Tea Garden that has some nice plant arrangements. The Town Hall looks like a very impressive building.
We visited Pier 39 where we had soup in a sour dough bread!!! I never had something like it but it was very good. We also saw there some smelly Sea Lions, shows and a lot of interesting people. The only downside here was that Mattias smashed his head on the concrete here. :-(
On our way back to the hotel we rode on the San Franciscos famous Cable Cart originating from 1940s. People were hanging out the sides, it was packed but we made it in the end.
We have culled the 330 odd photos and posted them for you guys to see what great time we had today.
And the verdict on San Francisco now? Well after a disappointing evening yesterday, I was impressed today. The only thing that needs to happen is for weather to be warmer. ;-)
I think we deserve a well earned rest in a warm bed tonight. Tomorrow is an early start where we will do the tour on the Alcatraz prison and drive back to Los Angeles.
