Today we came to our second stop in the Yasawa Islands, Fiji.  The place is called Drawaqa Island - Manta Ray Resort.
Manta Ray Resort is owned by an Australian and it is quite new.  I thought the resort didn't have the "Fiji" feel as much as the Coral View Resort.  The music is the same music you could hear in an Aussie pub and the people were not as friendly as in Coral View Resort.  We had to sign liability forms when we arrived at the resort and had to wear life jackets when going in the boat (despite the weather being perfect). Our bure was new but there was no bathroom in it - not even a sink.  In Coral View Resort we had our own bathroom. The other thing I would have done different in this resort was different positioning of bures.  Most of them were "jungle bures" with no water views and swamped with mosquitos.
In the end it wasn't that bad - just in front of the resort there was some great snorkeling and we managed to go and visit one of the native Fijian villages - Soso Village.  In the village everybody was saying BULA to us (meaning Hi) and everybody seemed so happy. It definitely opened our eyes and evaluate what is really important in life.
We saw the church in the village, visited the local primary school, saw the original Fijian hut, saw the Chief's house and other interesting things.
