We arrived at the park on Tuesday after driving only 170 miles and paying $ 16.00 in tolls. We drove over the Walt Whitman Bridge rather than the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philly. We usually stop but because there was no traffic in Philly we just kept driving and we missed the rush hour traffic.

As we were setting up Cathy & John, then Ursula & Randy came over to hug us because they said they were glad to see us. ( I made sure my wallet was still in my pocket ) lol. The Chestnut Lake park is just so-so. In our opinion this park is a place to stay for sightseeing and sleeping. The grass is not mowed, the bugs are horrible and the Rv sites are close. There is not even a pickleball court.

On Wednesday we all piled in to John's truck and headed for Philly on a sightseeing trip. As Cathy and I were parking the truck the others were at the visitor center planning our tour. Randy found out about the Phlash trolly for only $ 5.00 a person to ride. There were 27 points of interest along the route and you could get off or on at any of them.Way to go Randy you did good.

Everyone had a great time and at the end of the day we went to the famous Pat's and Geno's Philly cheese steak deli's as seen on the Travel Channel. They are across the street from each other and they both had long lines. I ordered at Pat's and Kathy ordered at Geno's. Pat's were rude, they did not give you time to look, just order and go, ask no questions, we have no time for that.It reminded me of the soup kitchen episode on the Jerry Sienfeld TV show.

The kicker is that the sandwiches were not that good, there was not any parking, no restrooms and no place to wash your hands.

The weather since we have been here is great during the day and get this, at night and early morning I wear a jacket because it cools off.Kathy and I will be here until next Thursday and we have several more sightseeing trips planned. If I were a gambler I would bet that we go to an Atlantic City Casino.lol

Gas is $ 2.35 a gallon.
