We saved the best for last. As I mentioned before, we met a Tibetan named Gonpl. He suggested that we visit his village in western Sichuan but is really Tibet. We travelled to the western frontier and then on to his village. It is a different time there. The people of the village were so happy to see Gonpo. He knew everybody. That was great for us because we got to spend the morning with his nomad aunt making yak butter inside her tent. The food was not my favorite although Jerry was a fan. The most enjoyable part was getting to know our guide who was so bright and kind and idealistic.
