Happy Birthday, Bethany!!! (Please remember that we are 14 hours ahead of you.)

Here are some more observations from Tokyo...

They love their dogs....we have seen dogs in strollers....wearing clothes and bling!

When leaving an elevator, they all push the close door button on their way out.

Bicycles are an important means of transportation. Not only do they hold their umbrellas over their heads while riding in the rain, they transport two children and groceries. Men in their suits ride to work on their bikes. Plus...they have very good posture!!!

No one crosses the street on the red pedestrian light...that is no one but Mark. The Japanese follow the rules and wait for the green light....they do not even cross if there is no car in sight!!

Mark and I walked across the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_Bridge_(Tokyo)

The bridge has two decks for cars and trucks. We walked in an enclosed walkway...they don't want any jumpers...and the monorail runs in the center. We had an incredible view of the Tokyo Bay (full of jelly fish). We were gone so long that I was desperate and needed to use the squatty potty. No wonder they all have great legs here....

After a stop at the Statue of Liberty...we found our way back home via the train.

Life continues and shoe laces break....so we had to find new shoes laces for Mark. We took the free bus to Jusco Hypermarket (Mark's first trip there). We spent some time in the grocery area and were shocked at some of the prices. We ate in the food court. I love the pictures in front of each of the counters..I can just point to what I want. The food was yummy. I am still not very good with the chopsticks. When my patience runs out...I pull out my trusty "CHORK'.

That night we were invited to a Music Event in the lounge that is on the 24th floor of our building. We were treated to traditional Japanese music and kimonos.

I have been here for just over two weeks and today is the first time I have seen  it rain...considering we are in the middle of the rainy season.

We are doing well and loving our time here!!!

Love your blog and the pics! I can't wait to visit Japan someday. Are there any black or biracial people out there?

The 'squatty potty' looks like a real challenge. Guess Japanese guys don't spend a lot of time in the 'reading room' there!

Oh my gosh! JUSCO! That was one of our FAVORITE places! Wow does that bring back memories.

Hey, how do I get this thing set up as an RSS feed?

Also, I need Christopher's phone number. I keep thinking about him and want to call him, then realize I don't have his number. Please email it to me.
Love and miss you. Has it really only been 2 weeks? Seems like WAY more than that!
