The trip here was uneventful. Mark met me at the airport and the journey continues.
Our apartment is very cozy. We take turns sitting on the one chair that we have. The toilet has more controls (see picture) than I know what to do with. I am sure that I will figure it out and hopefully not hurt myself.
We are buying one "strange" item a day from the grocery store. We started out safe....bagels that were caramel and chocolate flavored. Not too Japanesee...but when you can't read the packaging...who knows what you will get. Today we bought something in the cheese area with a picture of an almond on it. Every meal has rice and vegetables...but NO fruit. Thank God with we are covered with JuicePlus+. I bought three bananas yesterday for 140 (about $1.50) yen and today a small orange for 98 (about $1.00)yen. Not too bad....I found Campbell's soup for about $2.60/can.
Have done a lot of walking. Took the train to Higashi-Ikebukuro to find the Disney store...again...not very Japanesee...but an important stop.
Tomorrow Mark is back to work and I will be on my own again.
I thought that the meals would be the best part of being here...but I am finding it to be very frustrating and icky looking. I don't do fish with sunken eyes very well...
The Japanese people are very polite. The streets are very clean and there is very little grass. The poor little dogs have a small patch to go on....Anni would not make it here!!!

There are a lot of "Sadie" dogs here....they wear bling and sweaters and have doggie strollers...no kidding....
