Hello Everyone,

A new video is below... this is the first of two videos that cover a little trip north from Green Turtle Cay.

This first video includes our visit to Coopers Town (Abaco Island) and to Powell Cay.   Coopers Town is a settlement seldom visited by outsiders.   Powell Cay is uninhabited.

Enjoy!

When do the coconut and banana trees start?

Coconuts and Plantains are all around us, but they are non-native. The Soil here is so poor that there are few native plants that are edible. The local bananas are plantains... where are great fried as a starchy vegetable. Most of the Coconuts we see now are golden – not yet ripe. But at this stage in their development is when you cut them open to drink coconut water. Later, the water becomes thicker and turns to flesh.
