Hello Everyone!
The video below is a "walkabout" of Green Turtle Cay - we ride our bikes from one end to the other and throw in a visit to some other spots along the way. We give you a little history and a few fun facts about this island and also the Bahamas in general.
Warmly,
Ruth and Pierce

Very enjoyable. What is the situation regarding ownership if one wanted to live there? It sure looks quiet and peacefull.
Hi Dad,
Ownership is easy. Hire a real estate person, add money and go through the process. Cost of purchase is negotiated based on location, location, location (just like the USA) but of course: size and condition of the property. We walked through a 3 bedroom house of modern construction today that was located near town but not on the water. It had open plan, 10 foot ceilings in rooms, 16 foot ceiling in great room, Tile floors throughout, solid looking construction, huge deck with a large portion of it screened in, a pool-sized jacuzzi, outside shower off an entrance to a small half-bath several 8-foot glass french doors, etc. - in other words, not a “cottage” - definitely a house. It was very well laid out... obviously architeched. Asking price on a beautifully landscaped 80' x 120' lot was $410,000.
We have also seen cleared, waterfront lots with seawall constructed and newish-looking dock on medium-deep water for $595,000.
Some people (and corporations) purchase entire islands.
However, building here would be a monster headache! Everything must be imported with an average import duty of 45%. Import duties and taxes on hotel rooms are the only sources of governmental revenue here. No sales tax, no income tax. IMO – better to buy an already built house.
My wife and I are the original owners of #63 (Summer Breeze) and spent our first 2 years living aboard in San Diego. Did you keep the custom nav desk? Have great pictures. Glad to see it is being sailed as it should be! E- mail-Rdowgialo@aol.com
