I arrived, as almost always - without any accomodation booked. Wasn't a problem before, but this time I arrived and they told me I had to book beforehand or else they would charge me more. I found the $35 for a night in a dorm ridiculous, so I called Jan, whom had started his internship in Frederick (an hour away from Washington) and he said it was okay that I could stay there. So.. off to Janny again! The place was far out, but it's always a good time with Jan, so I bought a 1.75liter bottle of Bacardi Gold, so we had something to do out there. Which worked out perfect ;-)

Basically in the day times I visited Washington like a good little tourist and in the evening I went back to Frederick. Washington is 'grande'. We've all seen the city already, the white house, the capitol, the national mall, national monument, library of congress, the supreme court. All the 'important political (crap)' for the US of A. But nevertheless, cool to see! All the museums are free here, and with a lot of classic paintings.. definitely worth it! I wanted to especially see the largest library in the world. But found out that you can't enter it without being a member... so ... i signed up of course! What did you think?

If I ever realized that you can't read every book in the world out there... it was then! Damn! So nice to see where different people focus on in their lives! :)

As for the rest.. I really loved being in the spot where Martin Luther King gave his 'I have a dream' speech. So many movies have a shot from that position, you can just feel history there. All the hippies bathing in that grande pool, the vietnam protests (and the memorial for it there now..) - It isn't bad playing the tourist every now and then.. ;-)
