Yesterday, around 12:30 in the afternoon I was sitting next to the pool, doubting if I should go to this Brasilian Buffet party I had been invited to. Last tuesday I had met Camila, a brasilian girl who works for Emirates Air and she had invited me. After pondering for a while, I decided to just go for it. Matthew gave me a lift and when I entered 'Savage Garden' I saw some kids running around and some women dancing salsa on the dance floor. A two second hessitation before thinking: screw it! i'm going in!

I made my way up to the buffet, where Camila was sitting with a few friends, brasilian, brasilian, brasilian! I actually didn't meet anybody who wasn't from Brasil! I loved watching everybody dance there, as Camila put it: our mums teach us how to shake our asses on the age of 4! ...what's up with that mum??? You didn't teach me no ass-shaking when I was young!! Haaaaaa! ;D The way the people communicate is just so much more energetic, they move their whole bodies a lot while talking, touch your arm, kiss eachother on the cheek a lot, hug, smile... I love it! It's cool to see in every country I get to how different the people communicate or interact. It reminded me of Egypt, where the guys hold hands on the street or walk with their arms around eachother... your whole way of dealing people is so much about what you have seen around you socially. It's great actually indentifying what is a 'socially learned way of interacting', because it just seems so normal when you are back home :)

So yea! I will go to Brasil somewhere along the line! So, where was I? O yea, after 5 hours of eating and dancing I joined Camila and Kika to there place for a cocktail and a movie... Madagascar!!! I had already seen in the cinema with Mercedes back in Poole in the UK, but that movie just cracks me up! Physically fit, physically fit... physically, physically, physically fit! The ones who have seen it know what I'm talking about! ;) Me and Camila where laughing and singing the song for hours after (: which turned out to be quite some hours!

Peppermint! One of the biggest clubs in Dubai re-opened after being closed for quite a while. They did so in style by having flown over a dutch DJ (Martijn van Velden). That guy blew the roof off! Techno all night! The girls got me absinthe straight away and after two shots I was ready to do a little dance (: however, on the way to the dancefloor Camila bumped into Giovanni, another Dutch guy! so I happily spoke to him in my mother tongue and not much later he introduced me to more Dutch people! I ended talking to this girl Evelien for about an hour being fed vodka-red bulls and champagne from the ice-chilled bottles at their table. So now I was ready to do even more little dances! I found my Brasilian compagnions on the dance floor and from then on, i just danced the night away :)

After exiting the club at closing time (which is 3am around here) I got invited to stay the night at their place, which I gladly took, since the taxi ride home would have been too far. Yea yea, I know what you're all thinking... but no :) I got a "friendship"-vibe from Camila the first day I had met her and are keeping it like that. I can sense quite fast when I meet somebody new what they will 'add' to my inner life/wisdom and I go from there. I know me and Camila will be great friends, because I felt I already knew her for a long long time after just a few hours :)

So after waking up around 14:30, Doa'a called me to say she got me a ticket for the ladies' finals of the Dubai Tennis Championships! Sweeeeeeet! We went to a steak restaurant before and we didn't find out who was actually playing till they got onto the court... Real tennis fans ha? But me and Doa'a managed to cease a little Russian flag to cheer for our favorite: Maria Sharapova! Yes yes! Although I did feel a bit compelled to cheer for her Belgian opponent Justine Henin, just because it is so close to the Netherlands ;) buttttt, the little russian flag didn't do it for Maria, because Justine whooped her ass! It was cool to see the entire 'Royal' family come up the court afterwards for the ceremony though. All the sheiqs standing in a line. How cute! :)

Around 23:00 i finally got home... from one decision to go to a Brasilian party - to getting back almost 36 hours later. Always take life one day at a time.... ;)

Me and Camila at the buffet :)
