Nogah picked me up safely last night, we had a bite to eat and rented a movie to chill a bit after a long travelling day. I read up on what to see and do around Tel Aviv and I decided I wanted to go to Jaffa today. Jaffa is actually not Tel Aviv, but these two cities merged a while back. Jaffa exists for 4000 years, Tel Aviv only since 1909. A huge contrast :)
I don't know why, but when I got to Jaffa it was totally deserted. I walked around these ancients parts all by myself, not a tourist or inhabitant in sight. It was a truely amazing experience seeing this location all like that. It felt as if it was arranged for me like this :) It started raining at some point, but I didn't care at all, it kind of contributed to the feeling of the place :) I was kind of trigger happy with the camera. But I'm happy with the results :)
Wedding in the KisPigah Gardens in Jaffa, Tel Aviv in the background :)

The Wishing Bridge; if you touch your zodiac and look at the sea. You can make one wish :)

St Peters Church

Tel Aviv as seen from Jaffa

The Old Main Square in Jaffa... empty! :)

In 1997 I roamed through Jaffa too
and at the end of the day I wanted to go back to the hotel and sat down on a bench overlooking the park. An older gentleman sat next to me and we talked for about an hour. He told me which bus to take and walked me to the bus stop. Very friendly indeed...
