The very first thing that happened to me in Cairo was that I walked on the street, a girl passed me by and told me: "Welcome to Egypt". Imagine that on Amsterdam Central Station! That little remark illustrates the Egyptian people, today a little boy came up to me and shook my hand: "Ciao!" - saying all the letters seperately. I'm not gone here yet, but I will be in 2 days I feel :)

Today was the time to go to the Pyramids... I was kind of excited, because they are a milestone for humanity. The oldest Pyramide is 7000 years old... Seven thousand! Hot damn! :D I got up at 7 to meet up with Omar and Karim again. We took a mini-bus, which costs... 5 eurocent per person, even though it drives for 45 minutes. They took me out of the tourist stream into a back alley with all sand. We walked until we got to the Beduin-area, in a parfume shop I was explained all about the Giza pyramid area. For "special price" I would get a horse to tour the area. I forgot to haggle and in retrospect i probably could have gotten the 40 euros down to 20, but o well. You win some, you loose some :)

The tour was so awesome, they just put me on a horse, which only Kim had ever done to me before. But off me, Rakim and the tour guide went. Through the little streets into the desert, the guy whistled and shouted "Jalla!" and the horse went galopping and not just a little! If i would have had a "Tulband" I would have felt like in a move, racing through the dessert on a horse, nothing but sand and rocks around. Never felt so free before in my life :)

We took the horses and went to visit the pyramids in Giza. There are 3 big ones and 6 smaller ones. I felt so tiny seeing all those rocks on top of each other, how the F*CK did they build those things! The biggest ones has over 2.000.000 rocks, and they were shipped one by one from Luxor. Unbelievable! :)

The tour lasted for 4 hours and I got to see most of the areas where the tourists don't go, even though the pyramid area is not that big. They offered me to actually climb on the pyramids after mid-night, they would bribe the guards for me. I said: "YES!" immediately, but after hearing the bribe prices... it turned into a "pruil-lip"-no :$ - 450 euros! :D But imagine standing on top of one of those, Omar told me it was one of the best feelings ever. Even though it takes hours to climb :) I'll do with the dreaming about it for now ;-)

I'm still riding a high vibe from the pyramids, I just got back from visiting the biggest Mosque in "Islam Cairo", truely impresive to walk there on your bare socks. Seeing the people pray and sing. Ah! I'm off to see one of my Egyptian friends places.. I can't even imagine how I can remember all these impressions if this is going to keep up for a year! :)

Love you all :)
