Well here it is. Last night of the trip. And what a ride its been, we've sweated tears of
blood, dabbed tcp on the wounds of disenchantment and bounced gaily on the knee of self fulfillment.
Im flying out tomorrow at 22-40 pm, its a 25 hour flight which im looking forward to in a strange way.
I figure that 16 hours of nonstop films, tv and music, someone serving me food every 2 hours... throw in a
few premier league games and thats a good saturday for me. Its been a real adventure, full of ups and downs
but i feel enriched by everything thats happened. I feel quite a lot has gone against me, mainly financially
(thefts, exchange rates, house not selling). However I do thank the good lord for getting me the job at
the sweetie warehouse. Who'd have thought my best experience on the trip would be when i was working-
Something i usually keep a healthy distance from. I should fill you in on more of my time in New Zealand. After
I left Aaron in Picton on the north coast of the south island, I spent the day looking around the area (its
very nice indeed up there). Then i drove to Kaikoura which is the whale watching centre of NZ. Sperm whales
frequent the area due to a huge trench just a few miles off shore. they are the biggest predators on the earth
and spend 40 minutes at a time below the surface finding things to eat. They like to eat giant squid which, as
you can imagine dont go down without a fight. I love the image of those 2 fighting in the deep, its like a
40's comic book or something. Anyway i went on a boat trip and saw 4 of them (well, bits of them) and it
was a most enjoyable day. lots of seals live on a nearby beach which was good as well. I then flew out of
Christchurch to Wellington to see my friend Carla and the Throwing muses who were fantasticOhmygodTheyreamazing-Iloveyoukristinyourethebestever! OMG. I did, in my own quiet way, get very emotional. Wellington is very cool,
definitely the best city out here. Good weather as well for once. Flew from Welly to Queesntown and spent my eventful time there before ending up here in Auckland. its ok here, it seems rather featureless and lacks character though. Im sure theres plenty to do here but Im focusing on getting home now. Aaron seems to be having fun in fiji. Its a shame i missed out on it but I'll get there one day. thats it for now, I'll do one more entry when im back in Blighty. OK bye!
