The best part about travelling for both work and enjoyment  is  leaving, travelling and coming home. Travelling makes me appreciate home much more and it also helps me explain to others why we Montrealers are such passionate people.

I love Montréal so much that the city became my livilihood. I have been a trained professional cerified tourist guide since 1992. Working from April or May until November or December every year on being the most knowledgable expert possible for Montréal. On top of my training I spend hours exploring, photographying and learning to this day about Montreal from every source possible. One of my favourite activities is jumping on a bus and finding out where it will take me then explore the neighbourhoods. I end up 9 times out of 10 sitting and chatting with someone who has lived there all their lives who are now elderly and full of stories and anecdotes.

Naturally I have many many of my own  great anecdotes and stories as this is where I was raised all of my life. I am going to share some the anecdotes in this part of the the blog on Montréal.

From time to time I will share from my visits some of the anecdotes but to really get to feel the soul, spirit, vibe of Montréal the best way is to come visit and come stay here for awhile. In my 19 years guding almost everyone has said they would like to live here.

Montréal is some how a well kept secret. Friends in Europe, the Middle East, Egypt, the Gulf, Asia the United Kingdom never thought really of visiting here thinking or assuming it was like Toronto or beleiving it was like  this or that city. When they finally came to stay with me, or come for a visit and got a feel not just for attraction but just local life.. they were surprised to find that Montréal really is different.

In my opinion, through my observations ..nothing like the rest of North America, Nothing like the rest of Canada not even like the rest of the province of Québec

As an independant freelance tourist guide I not only work on contract for several organisations but also offer every month during the summer some fun discovery visits commented by me for Montrealers, or visitors which include

Monthly Girls Weekends in Montréal which could be:
Tasting tours through Montréal's Neighbourhoods on Bike
Chocolate tasting through Montréal's neighbourhoods using public transportation
Dance weekends with free dancing in the parks for the dance lovers
* Dance weekends with International Instructors from around the world
90 exercise and walks through different neighbourhoods
40 minute lunch time picnic visits for the downtown Montreal crowd
Hammam, Spa, pamper your body weekends in the Urban Setting
Urban neighbourhood hike with different themes
 Completely Ecofreindly Montreal
Montreal and shoes.. and Fashion where to get what you want..and much much more

It will all depend on what inspires me at that particular moment.

All are small groups of no more than 10 people so that it really becomes a fun weekend for all of us. Some events have no fees and other have fees.

Hope you will join me  or read about the Montreal adventures. Interested in exploring and discovering the hidden treasures with a Montrealer, who is an expert of her own home city also a Montreal Professional Tourist Guide with an edginess , craziness and most of all passion for all things a little out of the ordinary in Montréal.
Have a great hot summer day in May
