Yip, I climbed a volcano! It was quite a hike ... well for me anyway. I'm not exactly what one would call a hiker - or anything even vaguely close! It took about an hour and a half to climb up, we were with a group of about 20 people, and we got to 300 metres below the cone. We couldn't go any further because the volcano is too active! It was incredible - saw real lava (see the photos!) really hot when you got close and a really difficult walk in the last few hundred metres because you walk on the volcanic ash. So that was definitely a new experience for me and well worth all the huffing and puffing!
