CEBU CITY - is the capital city of Cebu and is the "second city" in the Philippines with the second most significant metropolitan centre and known as the oldest settlement established by the Spaniards in the country.
The city
is located on the eastern shore of Cebu and was the first Spanish
settlement in the Philippines. Cebu is the Philippines' main domestic
shipping port and is home to about 80% of the country's domestic
shipping companies. Cebu also holds the second largest international
flights in the Philippines and is a significant centre of commerce,
trade and industry in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. According to the 2009 LGPMS census, the city has a population of about 822,628 people.
Cebu City is the centre of a metropolitan area called Metro Cebu, which includes the cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Talisay. Metro Cebu has a total population of about 2 million people. The Mactan-Cebu International Airport, located in Lapu-Lapu City is only a twenty-minute drive away from Cebu City. To the northeast of the city are Mandaue City and the town of Consolacion, to the west are Toledo City, the towns of Balamban and Asturias, to the south are Talisay City and the town of Minglanilla. Across Mactan Strait to the east is Mactan Island where Lapu-Lapu City and an aquarium attraction are located.

Last January 2011, I celebrated my 24th birthday in Mountain View Nature's Park. I planned this that after our work, we will headed right away to the place. It was Saturday then, and our last day of duty for the week. I have my office mates with me, my closest colleagues and my supervisors as well. Our starting point was in our work area in IT Park,Cebu City where we rode a jeep together going to JY Lahug, Cebu City and rode another jeep going to Mountain View Nature's Park. It was  a 45 minute travel. But, before heading to the venue, we bought foods for our dinner and some liquor for us to drink. It was a post birthday celebrations actually.
As we arrived in the place, we paid the entrance fee for P 50.00 per head. Affordable right?
I found it hard catching my breath, because the place was located on a mountain area of Cebu City but it was more developed now. Good views, nice backgrounds for picture takings. We were so happy, full of laughter because in every corner of the nature's park, we took pictures of ourselves. As is we were the only people in there. LOL
We stopped over in a dining area, rest for a while, and we ate, and took unlimited pictures!
So many nice places around the park. You can see the view of Cebu City from way up in the place. There were also many statues of different animals, replicas of people from the past. We kept on walking up above, and going to the big cross area. The big cross actually is located at the highest point of the place. We were enjoying then, we were many actually and having the time of our lives.
It was getting dark already, so we slowly going back, and then had videoke. They have a place for videoke. As if it was our concert. We sang our favorite songs loudly. LOL
After this unforgettable celebration, we headed home full of smiles from our tiring faces!
Thank you guys for making it possible! :))
