We hired a jeep for the next few days and made our way to Tumbalen; the drive was beautiful so many terraced rice fields!! I was so engrossed in surroundings that I didn't see a car coming... ooh close one!!

The lake palace is a favourite holiday spot for the Balinese and was a really peaceful place.

We did a number of dives around the area including the Liberty Wreck, it was amazing, you could still see the guns and the wheel and we swam through the entire ship. Our divemaster spotted an octopus and Salud played with the cleaner shrimp which are attracted to your teeth underwater. We really enjoyed our time in Tumbalen & made the most of out of the lovely pool and accomodation we had before we headed for Kuta.

The traffic around Kuta was mental, worse than Dublin!! We both felt a bit stressed trying to find a place to stay in that traffic, eventually we found a local place, a bit manky but it was only for one night. We walked to the bombing memorial Ground Zero, so sad, so many people died there, 50% of them were Australians!

We enjoyed some of the nightlife in Kuta, you could buy a cocktail bucket for about 2euro.. mad! All tourists were taking full advantage of the offer and singing Karaoke...badly!!

We enjoyed a relaxing day at the surfers beach before catching a flight to Perth in Australia.
