I cant believe how much I have fallen in love with this country, and I really cant believe that is has been two weeks already. The people here are incredibly friendly, and there are so many travellers. I met a few from Canada and they spotted my Canadian accent right away. So many people love Canada. I met people that have the dream to one day live in Canada. Almost everything blows me away. The natural beauty of The whole country is sincerely breath taking. I just got back from the Abel Tasman National Park. Is was amazing! A group of 7 people I didn't know were in my group. We were a bunch of misfits. We were 1 Canadian, 3 south Africans and 3 girls form Sweden. We kayaked for one day through crystal clear ocean water. the beaches we stopped at were golden, and many exotic birds flew over us. Dolfins and seals swim in the area, but I missed them this time. After a night of camping in the forest at this sweet site, we hiked (trekked) though the rain forest and stopped at secluded beaches, caves, waterfalls, incredible river flows that streamed down the mountain. I hiked way to the top of a few mountains that took far too much energy. I walked through rain, wind, cold and very hot conditions. I must have taken at least 200 pictures of this place alone. massive mountains surround everything.

It is near impossible to not go over budget here. Everything is much more expensive then in Canada. For a sandwich and a drink it costs about $9. Gas is really pricey too. The food is good. I have a hard time shopping b/c I don't know what some things are. Vegimite is gross! It's this nasty spread that everyone puts on toast.

I'm hanging out at this hostel in some really small town outside of the national park. the peole I have been hanging out with here are with a some guy from Isreal, and these super friendly jolly Dutch women. Today was really just a simple beach day. I checked out this cool Mauri museum where they have giant wooden statues I have no idea where to head to next. I guess I'll just head down the west coast.
