So, things are still insane here! I really cannot get enough of this country. We have done so much in such a short time.

After Rotorua we did some serious hiking up, down and through mountains, down rivers and saw some spectacular waterfalls. We trekked up this one spot where a narrow stream coming from the mountain spilled into the amber coloured lake. The stream was actually a hot spring that heated part of the lake to about 90 degrees. It was tough leaving the hot spring but we had to get to a Wanganui. I crashed at this old lady's place to save some cash in Wanganui, and heading out early yesterday morning to Wellington at the very south end of the north island. Me and my friend Sonjia stayed at this massive backpackers hostel in Wellington that was far too big to even be considered a backpackers hostel. I met some great ppl there, had a few drinks, played a little pool and hit the sack. We were both anxious to get on the ferry to South Island in the morning and get to the best parts of New Zealand.

After going to a really nice museum in the morning we jumped on the ferry with Sonjia's car and headed for the South Island. After a 3 1/2 hour ferry ride we arrived in Picton and drove immediately to the city Neilson. After a 2 1/2 hour dive through the biggest mountains and most breathtaking scenery i have ever seen, we managed to score a place to sleep and set up base. The place we found is called Peradico Backpackers. We had no idea, but the was the best backpackers! There are loads of great people here. Some love this place so much that they just will not leave. It has actually become a home for many. I met this one guy who has been staying here for 1 /2 years. He just works around the house to pay for accommodation. There is a bar on a broken down bus out back. I sweet swimming pool, a hot tub, and a sauna. I originally planned to stay only a night but decided that I MUST stay longer. All these people want to do is party. Anyway, we head on a big kayaking trip and a two day trek to Abel Tasman National Park in the morning. You have to go ogle this place. I cant wait to wake up!!
