After taking somewhere in the region of 4000 photographs.....
After Spending around £300 in internet-cafes to provide updates for you lot....
After seeing 4 of the 10 Natural Wonders of the World (answers on a postcard).....
After travelling to all the continents on planet Earth except Antartica.....
After narrowly missing 2 of the worst natural disasters of the world this year (the Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina in and around New Orleans)........
We have trully had the most amazing trip of a lifetime. We had some rough times through Asia and at one point it looked like the trip would have to be cut short. But we stuck it together and overcame the obstacles. Now, having seen so much, been to so many fantastic places and met so many wonderful people, that period is just a distant memory.
Would we change anything? Not a day of it! We are so very lucky to have had the opportunity to have been able to follow our dreams. We have seen more in 10 months than most people will see in lifetime. Nobody can ever take those memories away from us, we stuck it out together through thick and thin and now we can sit back and feel so happy with ourselves.
The question that people have asked us almost everywhere we've been is "What was your favourite place?" That is just impossible to answer, there are so, so many. At one time we thought of compiling a Top 5 places, then there were too many so we made it a Top 10. Very quickly that wasn't enough. Instead we've decided just to settle on a (long) list of Highlights. They're all listed here on this site so, those of you that have been keeping up with our dots as they moved around the globe, you know the answer to your question (before we meet up with you all and get asked it).
To date we've had 3200 hits on the website since we left and curiously, over 900 in August. Mums:- stop logging on every 5 minutes!! I'm so glad all those hours spent in internet cafes have been worthwhile (it takes 5 mins to upload every photo to the site you know, work that one out!)
So now its over. A big part of us has always beleived that life is too short and you never know what's around the corner. We seized the opportunity, took the brave step of quitting our jobs, renting our house out and giving our dog away (temporarily!). There is a saying that you should make the most of every day. We can honestly say, that's what we've done.
