Yes we're back on the road again, Vicky's fit & well and we have our rucksacs on our backs.
We arrived back in Bangkok 20 hours after leaving Heathrow to find ourselves in the middle of the Songkhran festivities. This is the Thai New Year and the celebrations were in full swing in the capital.
The celebrations were being held in the street and the way of celebrating is to throw water over everyone within sight. The symbol of this has something to do with cleansing sins and originally water was only supposed to be tipped over the shoulder. Nowadays its a massive fest of water fights, from Supersoaker water pistols to pick-ups with barrels of the stuff being thrown as they drive round the streets... and then there's the talcum powder mixed with water painted faces, plain bedlam.
A day after arriving we met up with my (Mark's) Mum and Dad and flew down to the island of Koh Samui together.
