Beautiful Sunny day! we knew it would be a great day and it was. We took a cab from Winchcombe to Broadway - 24 pounds.
Went to church. Strolled through Broadway and bought a walking map as we wouldn't be on the Cotswold way and I didn't want to make any mistakes. As headed out of town we had lots of companions on this sunny Sunday.
We walked the low road through Buckland, Laverton, Stanton, Stanway , Wood Stanway and Hailes. Fantastic villages. At Stanway we almost walked 40 min out of our way to the Pheasant Pub out near the main road when Mom saw a sign for a tea room that turned out to be only 50 yards away and right on the trail.
We had a our best tea of the trip and met a couple walking from Lands End to John O Groats for charity. travellingted .
After tea, we cruised into Wood Stanway, and Hailes (didn't pay the 11 pounds to go into Abbey) and then a significant walk into Winchcombe - about 10 miles altogether.
We phoned Christine McKelvey from the middle of a beautiful field when Mom remembered we were supposed to be there this evening.
Cell phones very helpful. Mom is a quick change artist. We left for Christine's only 10 minutes after we got back to the White Hart. We ran over to Christine's afterwards to meet James and Debbie and their kids.
