Rode back into Adelaide from Horsham today. It was actually raining when I left, so I put on my rain pants for the first time in the whole trip. The main highway here is fast and smooth, but a bit boring. Not too much traffic, in and out of showers most of the morning.
Stopped for morning tea in Keith after crossing the border into South Australia again. Quite windy, about 35-50 km/h headwind most of the way, but thankfully still cool. Not quite sure how, but again I find myself attracting rain to an area called the Little Sandy Desert! I am becoming the farmers best friend.....
Stopped for a quick late lunch in Talem Bend, where the highway meets the mighty Murray River again. On to Murray Bridge - no imagination needed to guess what the highway does here. Got off the main road here, as this is the eastern edage of the Adelaide Hills area. The back roads here are a motorcycle paradise, so I enjoyed the last 100km into Adelaide as a riders challenge.
Now back in Adelaide for a few days to unwind before heading home. Easy place to putter around, lots of great cafes and cheap food places.
Put about 6,000km on the bike for the whole road trip, and it ran flawlessly as japanese bikes tend to do. I think I'll keep it around for a while in case another opportunity comes up.......
