I haven't written in a while so I figured I would take some time today to tell you about what I've been up to for the past three weeks! The most exciting thing that I have done recently was going on a hike to what are called the "Calanques de Marseille". It is hard to put into words how breathtakingly beautiful this place is, so I definitely encourage you to Google it. Trust me, it's worth a look. Depending on how enthusiastic you are feeling while there, you could hike there for days and never run out of new places to explore. I went back for a second time last weekend but this time instead of hiking up, we hiked all the way down to the water. Although I left with a few scrapes and bruises since we decided to take a "short-cut" and just hike straight through bushes and trees instead of taking the winding path down the calanques, it was completely worth it once we got there. It was also a great workout, which I really need because of all of the croissants and baguettes I've been eating. I do not understand how these French people eat so much bread and cheese but are still so skinny. I've attached some pictures from the calanques for you to see!

I also spent a day in a little town called Cassis, which is only a half hour bus ride from Marseille. My friends and I spent a few hours exploring the town (and trying something sweet from every bakery we passed) and then enjoyed delicious sandwiches while sitting on the beach and enjoying the sunshine. There are some pictures from my visit there on here as well.       While I’m on the topic of traveling, I have booked some exciting trips recently! I just bought a plane ticket to visit my friend Katrina, who was one of my close friends from Skidmore. She is studying in Florence, Italy this semester so I will be going there on April 21 and then traveling to another city in Italy a few days later with her! I also purchased train tickets for my parents and I to spend two days in Paris during the week they will be here in April! On Monday my friend and I will be buying our plane tickets to Madrid and our train tickets to both Seville and Granada for our weeklong trip to Spain we will be taking at the end of March. We did the math and we only have four weeks left of classes in the semester, yet finals do not begin until the second week of May so we are being given a lot of free time to do some traveling which is perfect!

I will be leaving for Morocco this Wednesday the 26th and will be returning to Marseille on the 10th of March. The part I’m most excited for is the camel ride we have scheduled! Expect an entry and many pictures when I return!
