Early in the morning we slipped into the Huahine's bay--paradise! The Road Scholar group left the ship on the tender at about 8:30 am and on the pier we boarded a motorized outrigger for a ride into the lagoon and a visit to a black pearl farm to learn how pearl seeds are implanted and how the black pearls grow. Then we boated across the inlet to another lagoon for an hour-long drift snorkel. The fish and the reefs were gorgeous. I wish I had an under-water camera! In the afternoon we had a fascinating lecture on marine invertebrates from our instructor Art Reed; I know I'll see things now in the reefs that I totally missed on this morning's snorkeling session.
