After a grueling 36 hours of travel from Boston we arrived in Papeete early Tuesday morning and transferred to the Meridien Hotel. We slept a few hours before joining the Road Scholar group to take our luggage to the ship, the M/S Paul Gauguin. After that we spent a few hours wandering through Papeete's open market, ate a delicious lunch of rich and melt-in-your mouth raw tuna, and boarded the ship around 3 pm. Jet lagged so to be early--before the ship departed after midnight.
