Why on Earth we thought getting a replacement passport in La Paz was going to be easy, I'll never know. We got to the Embassy at 9am and finally walked away just after 1pm. Everything was in order but we were continually fobbed off with various excuses about broken scanners and computers not accepting Trish's details.

If the Americans can manage same day replacements why can't we? At least it's all sorted now, until we get back to Santa Cruz and battle with the Bolivian Immigration Service, not known for their efficiency!!
