Today we left North Platte, NE and continued our drive eastward. Our breakfast at Perkins took over two hours, so we got a late start to our day. We drove through Des Moines, IA, and more importantly, Brooklyn, IA. Unfortunately, Brooklyn was closed (as you will see in the pictures). We ended our drive in Davenport, IA, which is right on the border of Iowa and Illinois. The one cool thing about Davenport is that it lies right on the border of Iowa and Illinois, which is separated by the Mississippi River.
On a side note, we have been listening to several books on tape during our long car rides. We just finished "Are You There Vodka, It's Me Chelsea" by Chelsea Handler, and we are now listening to
"The DaVinci Code" by Dan Brown.

What happens when you are in a car too long?
You start to notice the little things, like 'Brooklyn is closed'. Glad to hear you're catching up on your reading, though.
